The invitation
Thirty years to help tomorrow’s stars take their place, is something to celebrate!
We are proud and happy to invite you, along with your friends, partners and associates, to join us in celebrating the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Fondation de la mode de Montréal at the Montreal Olympic Park on Monday, May 6, 2019.
You will have the pleasure of seeing the unequivocal result of this exemplary and generous involvement of all those who have put their shoulder to the wheel since 1989, as a scholarship laureate from each of the past three decades, now the owner of his brand, will demonstrate his expertise by presenting one of his collections.
Together we will pay special tribute to “The one by whom it all started”, Mrs. Michèle Boulanger-Bussière. You will attend the graduate scholarships and internship awards ceremony for the best emerging members from the various fashion schools in Québec.
The graduates of the LaSalle College International School of Fashion, Arts and Design will present, with a
lot of enthusiasm and confidence, a spectacular fashion show, the result of 18 months of intense work.
You can purchase your admission tickets by completing the order form here attached or by contacting the Fondation de la mode de Montréal at 514 939-4403.
Thank you in advance for your support and we look forward to welcoming you on Monday, May 6th.
The tribute
The one by whom it all started
An exceptional fashion actress, Michèle Boulanger-Bussière helps to reinforce various aspects: the training of the specialized workforce, the sustainable development of the next generation, the conception of the image of the industry as well as the promotion of our local creators. Her name is intimately associated with the very first fashion training offered, first at the college level and then at the university level. She is one of the first builders of the fashion industry in Québec.
In 1960, she co-founded and operated the Salon de haute couture Monichel, in Montréal. She was Fashion Coordinator at Dupuis Frères and Fashion Promotion and Export Officer at the ministère de l’Industrie et du Commerce.
In the mid-1970s, she organized the first Montréal Fashion Week in New York. For several years she was associated with LaSalle College as director of her fashion school and vice-president, responsible for international expansion. She launched the Centre spécialisé de la mode, the first computerized cutting workshop in Québec.
In 1989, she took part in the creation of the Fondation de la mode de Montréal and, in the mid-1990s, of the École supérieure de mode de l’ESG UQAM, where she was director of administrative affairs.
Fashion ambassador Michèle Boulanger-Bussière is a member of l’Ordre national du Québec.
